• Under File - Scan - Select Source choose your scanner
• Push the Scan to Pdf toolbar button and type the file name you want for your pdf file. There is also a menu entry under File - Scan - Scan to Pdf which additionally asks about the wanted paper size and compression.
• Now the scan dialog of your scanner pops-up (some scan dialogs are popping under, you have to go get them behind the FreeVimager window)
• Through the scan dialog scan all the wanted pages one after the other
• When done with all the pages close the scan dialog and your pdf file will be opened by the default pdf viewer (like Acrobat Reader for example). To avoid opening the pdf file after scanning check the "Disable auto-opening with external program" in the Settings dialog (see File - Settings).

NOTE: If your scan dialog doesn't stay open after the first scanned page, restart the above procedure from the beginning but check the File - Scan - Lock Scan Dialog option!
