The well-known SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is employed to ensure quick and efficient email transmission. Please consider the following three points to ensure your email provider works seamlessly with our software.
- For most email providers you have to select STARTTLS under Connection Type of ContaCam's Email Send Configuration dialog.
- For many free email providers, especially if the 2-step verification is enabled, it's necessary to create an App Password in the security page of the email account to be used instead of your account password:
- Sometimes it's also necessary to enable SMTP access under the settings page of your email account:
Note: if it says something like "Please log in with your web browser and then try again" then you probably tried too much. That's a security measure of free email providers, so do exactly what it says, login to the web email interface and confirm that it was you.
