Calling Map from the View menu will show the position based on (in order of priority):
- Jpeg and tiff pictures can contain exif gps coordinates when taken with a mobile phone or a specialized camera. There are also programs adding exif gps coordinates to your images from a gps log file through time synchronization.
- In FreeVimager it's possibile to edit Location, State/Province, City and Country for jpeg or tiff images under the File Information dialog. In the batch processing dialog the IPTC & XMP button can be used to edit Location, State/Province, City and Country for multiple jpeg and tiff pictures (for example add the City and/or the Country for all your holiday photos).
- FreeVimager will also recognize locations stored as jpeg or gif comments (see File Information dialog).
- For all picture types renaming the file with a location will also do it.
